We wanted to send out a big Thanks to Joe Healey and the folks at Fly Rod & Reel magazine.
They've included us in their "New Gear for 2009" section (pg. 62 to be exact).
It's always cool when there is confirmation of your ideas and we appreciate the ink.

Save Wild Steelhead Festival - 11.5.08 - Bozeman, MT. :: (406) 599-2987
From all accounts the Festival was a huge success! Congrats!
The Save Wild Steelhead Festival is an event to raise money and awareness for wild steelhead. Considered one of the most revered and allusive freshwater game fish on the planet, wild stocks are at an all time low. The purpose of the Save Wild Steelhead Festival is to unite anglers, filmmakers, photographers and conservation groups in an effort to educate the community on hard-hitting issues regarding wild steelhead. With a tasteful blend of entertainment and conservation, we hope this event will successfully bring together all those who enjoy fly fishing and the outdoors, for it is up to us to preserve the fish, their habitat and the sport for future generations.
Bug Slinger is proud to be a sponsor for this event. Please check it out.

Belize Approves C&R for Tarpon, Permit and Bonefish - sweet.
In early September, the Cabinet of Belize has approved landmark legislation instituting "Catch and Release" status for bonefish, permit and tarpon. According to the legislation, "these three species may not be possessed by any person or establishment for any purpose save and except in the act of catch and release."
FOTA (Friends of Turneffe Atoll (turneffe.com))has worked with Belize's fisheries and tourism departments over the past several months on the legislation. And it plans to begin a new project aimed at combining government, the sports fishing industry, and private sector interests to develop effective and stable enforcement of these and other fishing regulations in Belize.
Our hats are off to all who were instrumental in this effort. Especially Craig Hayes of Turneffe Flats Lodge and the goverment of Belize for the foresight to make this happen
